Behind the Lens Series - Beating cross-town rivals

It was March 14, 2023. Catawba Ridge High School Men’s soccer was playing Indian Land High School in Indian Land. This has always been one of the toughest games on the schedule. Indian Land always has great players and a ton of grit.

In this particular game, the entire first half it was pouring rain. Even though everyone was soaked, on the field the players were dialed in and determined to win. On the line was the region title. The winner of this game would have bragging rights for the 2023 season.

In the middle of the second half, #9 on CRHS fired a shot on goal and scored. The entire sideline and CRHS section of the bleachers went crazy. I was right there to capture the intensity of the moment, including the celebration after the goal.
